Much of my work is rooted in nostalgia. Using upcycled materials, my painted record series blends my love of music—specific genres, musicians, songs, and color. Created as each album spins on a record player, the painting process is similar to the rhythmic push and pull of clay on a potter’s wheel.

Some pieces lean purely into color and design, while others preserve the original record label, with palettes inspired by album covers or the songs. Select works also incorporate an NFC tag—allowing viewers to access the album, song, or video with a simple tap of their phone. Each record is mounted on a wood panel with a stand-off and center spindle, referencing the familiar form of a turntable.

Going off the record (pun intended), I’ve ventured into using CDs for their prismatic glow and developed another series that nods to the art of the mixed tape—each piece echoing the care, intention, and emotion of crafting a personal soundtrack.
